WASHINGTON, D.C. – Lawmakers concluded the 116th Congress with the passage of a COVID relief package, funding for the federal government, and major energy legislation for the first time in over a decade. CEBN President Lynn Abramson provided the following comments:

“The CEBN applauds Congressional leaders for the passage of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, which provides relief for families and businesses across the country. In particular, we are pleased to see relief for small businesses through the Paycheck Protection Program.”

“In addition, the package includes many tax and appropriations provisions which will spur deployment of clean energy and energy efficiency technologies. We are especially pleased to see significant support for cleantech research, development, and deployment programs across the Department of Energy. Many of these provisions are in line with CEBN’s previous recommendations.”

“We look forward to working with legislators in the 117th Congress to continue this momentum and advance the clean energy economy forward.”
