NOAA Broad Agency Announcement (BAA)

The purpose of this notice is to request applications for special projects and programs associated with NOAA’s strategic plan and mission goals, as well as to provide the general public with information and guidelines on how NOAA will select applications and administer discretionary Federal assistance under this Broad Agency Announcement (BAA). NOAA issues this BAA for extramural research, innovative projects, and sponsorships (e.g., conferences, newsletters, etc.) that address one or more of the following four mission goal descriptions contained in the NOAA Strategic Plan:

  1. Climate Adaptation and Mitigation
  2. Weather-Ready Nation
  3. Healthy Oceans
  4. Resilient Coastal Communities and Economies

NDN Fund Relief & Resilience Loans

NDN Fund has created three specialized loans with more flexible under-writing targeted at those Native-owned or tribally-owned businesses that are either adversely impacted by COVID-19 or demonstrate operation in a high-demand industry and/or are applying innovative business strategies. This portfolio will follow NDN Collective’s overall mission and theory of change by prioritizing businesses that demonstrate social and environmental co-benefits. Native-owned businesses are eligible for direct loans ranging from $10k-$50k.

The Majira Project Accelerator Program is now accepting applications for its 2022-23 7th Cohort. Accepted small businesses led by or serving Black, Latinx, and Indigenous communities receive a pro-bono, company-specific consulting engagement with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), a business coach, and connections to an extensive network of mentors, funders, and other resources to accelerate growth. The U.S. Department of Energy, in partnership with the National Alliance for Water Innovation (NAWI), announced a $5 million solicitation for small-scale desalination and water-reuse technologies that will improve the safety, security, and affordability of America’s water supply. The Pilot Program request for proposals (RFP) offers applicants the chance to design, build, operate, and test desalination and water reuse treatment systems that produce clean water from non-traditional water sources, such as brackish water, seawater, produced and extracted water, and wastewater.
