Carbon Capture Demonstration Project Program (OCED)
This FOA makes available up to $1,700,000,000 for approximately 6 projects at up to a 50% federal cost share. Proposed projects must demonstrate as part of the application and during the award at least 90% CO2 capture efficiency over baseline emissions and a path to achieve even greater CO2 capture efficiencies for power and industrial operations. Note that if the carbon capture project includes a new, on-site auxiliary system to generate power or steam for its operation, it may need to include CO2 capture, compression, and storage from the auxiliary system if needed to achieve the minimum unit-wide 90% CO2 capture inclusive of the power industrial facility all new systems or processes associated with the CCS project.

Energy Improvements in Rural or Remote Areas (ERA)
The Energy Improvements in Rural or Remote Areas (ERA) program will provide financial investment, technical assistance, and other resources to advance clean energy demonstrations and energy solutions in rural and remote areas that can be replicated and scaled. National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Formula Program – Request for Applications (Alaska)
Through the NEVI program, Alaska will receive more than $50 million from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) over five years to advance a statewide EV fast charging network. This program will adapt Alaska’s infrastructure system to support reliable, equitable and sustainable electric transportation while meeting community and economic needs. AEA is soliciting competitive applications for the purpose of installing electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) at up to 14 Sites throughout the State along Alaska’s Alternative Fuel Corridor (AFC). The scope of
this project will include design, construction, installation of software and hardware, operations, maintenance and reporting.

Advanced Energy Manufacturing and Recycling Grant Program (Grants)
The Advanced Energy Manufacturing and Recycling Grant Program is designed to provide grants to small- and medium-sized manufacturers to enable them to build new or retrofit existing manufacturing and industrial facilities to produce or recycle advanced energy products in communities where coal mines or coal power plants have closed. Grants are available until the total $750M is expended.

Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) Pilot Demonstrations
GTO’s EGS program actively pursues research, development, and demonstration projects to facilitate technology validation and demonstration, reduce cost, and improve performance of EGS. The technology developments targeted in this FOA are intended to increase geothermal power production in the United States in the near-term from areas surrounding existing geothermal fields (Topic Area 1) while facilitating new opportunities for widespread power (or power with cascaded heat production) in the future from regions where heat is present, yet no geothermal energy production exists (Topic Areas 2, 3, and 4).

Buildings Upgrade Prize (Phase 1)
Buildings UP aims to build capacity to rapidly and equitably transform U.S. buildings. Teams will submit innovative concepts to leverage funding to equitably transform a wide variety of buildings across diverse geographies. As teams progress through the prize, they will receive cash prizes and technical assistance to help bring their ideas to life.
In Phase 1: “Concept”, teams may apply to one of two pathways: Equity-Centered Innovation or Open Innovation. Winners of both pathways will be eligible to advance to Phase 2 and access technical assistance.
Equity-Centered Innovation Pathway: Concepts to deliver scalable and replicable upgrades to buildings in disadvantaged communities, low- and moderate-income households, and underserved commercial, nonprofit, and public buildings. Phase 1 Equity-Centered Innovation winners will each receive a $400,000 cash prize.
Open Innovation Pathway: Concepts for replicable and scalable solutions that addresses a geographic area or building type. Phase 1 Open Innovation winners will each receive a $200,000 cash prize.
There is also an Application Support Prize, where up to 50 winning teams will be awarded $5,000 and up to 10 hours of technical support. Applicants are intended to be those who might not otherwise have the staff capacity, time, or expertise to submit a full Phase 1 submission — such as first-time applicants for BTO funding and community-based organizations (CBOs) representing or serving areas with equity-eligible buildings.

The American-Made Community Power Accelerator Prize is designed to fast-track the efforts of new, emerging, and expanding solar developers and co-developers to learn, participate, and grow their operations to support multiple successful community solar projects. The goal of this prize is to grow a robust ecosystem of community solar project developers that incorporate meaningful benefits into projects across the United States.
This prize has three phases: Ready! Set! and Grow! By the end of the prize, competitors will be ready to engage with the Community Power Accelerator online platform, which provides a place for competitors to shop their credit-ready projects around to verified project developers, investors, and philanthropic organizations.
The Community Power Accelerator Prize is open to U.S. community solar developers, including new developers, co-developers (organizations who are partnering with a project developer), or developers who are expanding their community solar operations.

Bipartisan Infrastructure Law: Resilient and Efficient Codes Implementation
This FOA seeks applications with project teams ready to advance building energy
codes and other building efficiency policies within a particular region, state, or
local jurisdiction. To drive sustained improvements, the BIL emphasizes the
importance of strategic partnerships, which must include a state agency, and
may include other organizations, such as state or local building departments,
builders, contractors, architects, engineers, other design and construction
professionals, academia, research, trade organizations, consumer advocates,
regional energy efficiency organizations, and other stakeholder interests who
play an important role supporting the successful implementation of building
codes. Funding provided through this FOA is specifically designed to update
building energy codes and ensure the cost-effective implementation of these
updated codes at the state and local level.

Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE)
The U.S. Department of Transportation has published a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for $1.5 billion in grant funding through the Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) discretionary grant program for 2023. The popular program helps communities around the country carry out projects with significant local or regional impact. RAISE discretionary grants help project sponsors at the State and local levels, including municipalities, Tribal governments, counties, and others complete critical freight and passenger transportation infrastructure projects.

Preventing Outages and Enhancing the Resilience of the Electric Grid program
DOE developed a $2.3 billion formula grant program to strengthen and modernize America’s power grid against wildfires, extreme weather, and other natural disasters that are exacerbated by the climate crisis. The program will distribute up to $2.3 billion over five years and will provide grants based on a formula that includes, among other things, population size, land area, probability and severity of disruptive events, and a locality’s historical expenditures on mitigation efforts. Priority will be given to projects that generate the greatest community benefit providing clean, affordable, and reliable energy to everyone, everywhere, anytime.
