Clean Energy Innovator Fellowship 2023

The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Clean Energy Innovator Fellowship program funds recent graduates and energy professionals to support critical energy organizations to advance clean energy solutions that will help decarbonize the power system, electrify transportation and industry, and make the U.S. power system more resilient, equitable and inclusive. The program recruits candidates from diverse backgrounds to spend up to two years at eligible host institutions.

Prospective Host Institutions should apply to be considered for the program by April 27, 2023. Applications for Innovator Fellows open on May 22 and are due by June 8.

Ideation Discovery Bootcamp (IDB) – Texas

IDB is a virtual nine-week course designed to spark and develop science and technology innovations towards the next stage of development. Graduation will be in-person at a San Antonio venue. Participation may qualify you for America’s Seed Fund federal funding program for research and development for small business innovations. To be eligible, innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers, and companies must be located in Texas. Participants must also be able to purchase the required workbook, which is estimated to cost $100. We strongly encourage women and minorities to apply, including those in rural and socio-economically disadvantaged zones. The Bootcamp is offered at no cost to participants and typically costs hundreds of dollars. Spots are limited, so apply early! The application deadline is April 23, 2023. The application should take 10-15 minutes to complete and can be saved and returned to on the same device.

Pollution Prevention Grant: Environmental Justice Through Safer and More Sustainable Products

The purpose of the Pollution Prevention Grant: Environmental Justice Through Safer/Sustainable Products is for state and tribal programs to provide pollution prevention (P2) technical assistance to businesses (e.g., information, training, expert advice) in order to improve human health and the environment in disadvantaged communities by increasing the supply, demand and use of safer and more sustainable products, such as those that are certified by EPA’s Safer Choice program, or those that conform to EPA’s Recommendations for Specifications, Standards and Ecolabels for Federal Purchasing (Recommendations).

Pollution Prevention Grant: Environmental Justice in Communities

The purpose of the Pollution Prevention Grant: Environmental Justice in Communities is for state and tribal programs to provide P2 technical assistance to businesses (e.g., information, training, expert advice) on source reduction, also known as pollution prevention (P2). Grantees must demonstrate that the project will improve human health and the environment in disadvantaged communities by implementing P2 approaches. P2 approaches can help businesses reduce the use and release of hazardous substances that can harm human health and the environment while also saving money by reducing their resource use, expenditures, waste and liability costs.

Elemental Excelerator – Cohort 12

Are you an entrepreneur looking to scale a transformative climate technology? Are you invested in scaling a solution that brings both climate and social impact? Elemental Excelerator is a leading nonprofit investor focused on scaling climate solutions and social impact for all communities. Elemental provides an initial investment, usually in the form of SAFEs or convertible notes, to help complete specific milestones tied to the program. EDF Summer of Action 2023

Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) invites you to submit a proposal to the 2023 Summer of Action grants program. This is the seventh year EDF has awarded Summer of Action grants, intended to support organizations as they build their base of advocates to push for federal and local climate, clean energy, healthy communities, and environmental justice policies. For 2023, preference will be granted to proposals that creatively engage federal lawmakers and/or influential stakeholders to lift up local stories that spotlight and celebrate investment opportunities flowing from BIL and IRA implementation.

MassCEC: Equity Workforce Training Implementation Grants

MassCEC’s Equity Workforce Training Implementation Grants provide up to $1,200,000 across two to three years in grant funds and technical support to applicants developing or expanding programs that provide job training and support services to underserved individuals seeking employment in the clean energy sector. Successful applicants will propose projects that address barriers faced by these populations, demonstrate a high-level of employer engagement and leverage of existing workforce development systems, and lead to high-quality careers in climate-critical occupations.

MassCEC: Community Engagement Planning Grants

Through this Request for Proposals (“RFP”), the Massachusetts Clean Energy Technology Center (“MassCEC”) is offering Community Engagement Planning Grants.  The Community Engagement Planning Grants will provide direct support to community-based organizations, municipalities, or other entities that represent the community interest (“Communities”) to support meaningful community input in the development and deployment of solar energy projects owned by electric and gas distribution companies (“EDCs”).

MassCEC: Catalyst Program

The Catalyst Program provides grants of up to $75,000 to researchers and early-stage companies looking to demonstrate initial prototypes of their clean energy technologies. Specifically, the program is designed to demonstrate the feasibility of transforming new ideas from the research stage to commercially viable technologies to increase industry and investor interest. All awardees gain access to a vast network of partners, expert local market and policy insights, and mentoring from MassCEC and MassVentures, while all finalists receive complimentary pitch coaching and business mentoring.

In parallel with Catalyst, MassCEC and MassVentures will award up to two additional grants of up to $75,000 each for projects led by eligible (certified or certifiable) women-owned or minority-owned early-stage companies, to demonstrate initial prototypes of their clean energy technologies.
