Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) 40503: Energy Auditor Training
The Energy Auditor Training (EAT) Program will provide Grant funding to States for the purpose of training individuals to conduct energy audits, or surveys, of commercial and residential buildings. This program was established by Section 40503 of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). The goals of the program are to offer auditor training certifications that include informed curriculum and program design that aligns with current and future standards; inform or empower States with current, standardized framing of the education and training requirements for energy auditors; enlarge the pipeline of diverse talent by closing gaps in job access; address workforce inclusion deficiencies and improve disparities with underrepresented groups; connect auditor trainees to career opportunities that promote job quality and economic mobility; and inspire sustainability through intentional practices and partnerships that support infrastructure development and the long-term value of a clean energy workforce

Nuclear Data Interagency Working Group (NDIAWG) Research Program
The DOE SC program in Nuclear Physics (NP) and the DOE National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Office of Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation Research and Development (NA-22) hereby announce their interest in receiving applications to the Nuclear Data InterAgency Working Group / Research Program for research projects intended to answer nuclear data questions of interest to the research communities supported by those programs and offices.
This FOA allows the nuclear data community to better address goals of: increasing entry points into the nuclear data evaluator community, supporting retention of evaluators, and investing in nuclear data evaluator capacity to be directly involved with research.

NASA MSI Incubator: Wildfire Climate Tech Challenge
NASA’s Wildfire Climate Tech Challenge, part of the MSI Incubator initiative, seeks innovative solutions for wildfire prevention and climate technology. NASA invites students and employees of Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) to address the escalating issues caused by wildfires exacerbated by climate change. Successful participants will have the opportunity to join a startup incubator program and compete for a prize of $100,000. Additionally, this initiative offers a platform for participants to present their ideas to venture capitalists and NASA experts, furthering the development of technology in the fields of wildfire prevention and climate change, while promoting inclusivity and diversity.

ROSES 2023: A.47 Earth Action: Community Action for Equity and Environmental Justice
NASA is especially interested in proposals from or partnered with domestic non-Federal organizations from community-based non-profit institutions, Tribal governments and academic institutions, Indigenous-supporting organizations, local governments, and academic institutions active in addressing EEJ issues that would benefit from the insights offered by NASA Earth science information. For this solicitation, Earth science information includes Earth-observing satellite measurements and derived information products; outputs and predictive capabilities from Earth science models that input satellite data; and other geospatial products derived from spaceborne data.
NASA requests proposals developed in collaboration with underserved and
overburdened communities, that involve a co-design process to address community
interests to use Earth science information in decisions, actions, and policies. Each
proposal should address three components: 1) Assessment and Consultation, 2) Tool
Design, Test, and Implementation, and 3) Evaluation and Capacity Building.

ROSES 2023: A.67 Earth Action: Supporting Climate Resilient Communities
This solicitation calls for proposals that support communities in building their resilience to climate change by utilizing NASA Earth observations. To achieve this objective in a scalable way, proposals must involve organizations that assist in knowledge sharing between scientists and decision makers, have established relationships within communities, and have experience working with communities to build climate resilience.
These organizations are called boundary organizations. Through this approach, NASA seeks to enhance the capacity of communities and boundary organizations to utilize NASA Earth observations. Proposals must include communities as equal partners in the development of climate-informed actions that enhance community-level resilience to episodic and chronic climate stressors. Key objectives include:
• Advance the capacity of communities and boundary organizations to utilize
NASA Earth observations to enhance community-level climate resilience
• Advance access to and integration of NASA Earth observations in community
decision making related to climate resilience
• Advance local solutions that are transferable, scalable, contribute to climate
knowledge, and inform climate action
• Enable communities to achieve their resilience goals beyond the project’s

NSF Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Program
The main goal of the S-STEM program is to enable low-income students with academic ability, talent or potential to pursue successful careers in promising STEM fields. Ultimately, the S-STEM program seeks to increase the number of academically promising low-income students who graduate with a S-STEM eligible degree and contribute to the American innovation economy with their STEM knowledge. Recognizing that financial aid alone cannot increase retention and graduation in STEM, the program provides awards to institutions of higher education (IHEs) not only to fund scholarships, but also to adapt, implement, and study evidence-based curricular and co-curricular [1] activities that have been shown to be effective supporting recruitment, retention, transfer (if appropriate), student success, academic/career pathways, and graduation in STEM.

Agriculture and Food Research Initiative Competitive Grants Program Foundational and Applied Science Program
The AFRI Foundational and Applied Science Program supports grants in six AFRI priority areas to advance knowledge in both fundamental and applied sciences important to agriculture. Future of Semiconductors
The program seeks to fund research as well as education and workforce development to improve science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education at the nation’s institutions of higher education, spanning two-year colleges and four-year universities including the minority-serving institutions with a goal to advance semiconductor design and manufacturing. NSF encourages bold, potentially transformative activities that address future semiconductor design and manufacturing challenges as well as shortages in the skilled scientists, engineers, and technician workforce. This solicitation encourages proposers to take a holistic perspective on workforce development, considering the participation of the full spectrum of diverse talent in STEM career paths, advanced technologies, and research capabilities. All proposals must include education and workforce development plans integrated with the proposed research activities. This solicitation seeks proposals to perform fundamental research to enable a new paradigm in semiconductor capabilities through research grants focused on co-design approaches. Teams of all sizes, with a minimum of a PI and a co-PI, are encouraged.

Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (IRA) Assistance for the Adoption of the Latest and Zero Building Energy Codes
The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (IRA) provides up to $1 billion for States and units of local government with the authority to adopt building energy codes to adopt and implement the latest building energy codes, zero energy building codes, or equivalent codes or standards.
This opportunity assists eligible entities in further decarbonizing their buildings through the adoption of the latest national model building energy codes, zero energy codes, other codes that deliver equivalent or greater energy savings, including innovative approaches to decarbonize existing buildings through certain measurable and enforceable requirements. The IRA is unprecedented in its opportunity to support sustainable change at the State and local level with respect to advancing the energy efficiency of new, renovated, and existing buildings. DOE is particularly interested in supporting States and local governments in implementing local capacity building, multi-year investments in workforce and education, and long-term improvements in building energy codes through multi-cycle adoption and building performance standards (BPS).

FY24 Department of Navy (DON) Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Education and Workforce Program
The Office of Naval Research (ONR) is interested in receiving a broad range of proposals for augmenting existing and/or developing innovative solutions that directly maintain, and/or cultivate a diverse, world-class Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) workforce to maintain the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps’ technological superiority. The goal of proposed efforts must provide solutions that establish, build, and/or maintain STEM educational pathways of U.S. citizens directly relevant to the needs of Department of Navy’s (DON) current and future workforce. As the capacity of the DON Science and Technology (S&T) workforce is interconnected with the STEM education system, DON recognizes the need to support efforts that can jointly improve STEM student outcomes and align educational and outreach efforts with Naval S&T current and future workforce needs.
This announcement explicitly encourages programs that improve the capacity of education systems and communities to create impactful STEM educational experiences for students of all ages and the naval related workforce. Programs must aim to increase engagement in naval relevant STEM, and enhance the corresponding skills, knowledge, and abilities of participants. ONR encourages applicants to utilize current STEM educational research for informing program design and advancing STEM careers and opportunities of naval relevance.

Bipartisan Infrastructure Law’s Storage Validation and Testing program
Projects selected under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law’s Storage Validation and Testing program will develop new and expanded carbon storage projects through FECM’s Carbon Storage Assurance Facility Enterprise (CarbonSAFE) Initiative, each with the capacity to store 50 or more million metric tons of CO2 over a 30-year period. Multiple openings of this funding opportunity allow for the continuous development of commercial-scale carbon storage infrastructure, with projects focusing on feasibility determination, detailed site characterization, planning, permitting, and construction stages of project development.
