Global Climate Innovator Challenge

The Global Climate Innovator Challenge is a global program which brings together changemakers, climate entrepreneurs, sustainability technologists, and decision makers in the climate world to help accelerate the next wave of innovative solutions to achieve our 1.5ºC climate goal. We are looking for innovative solutions or ideas (including but not limited to technology, product, business model, or approach) that can accelerate progress towards 1.5°C climate goal. Professional Innovators can participate in the Challenge as an incorporated entity. You need to submit a summary of your Solution, with an identified stage before the deadline. Youth Innovators (<24yo) can participate in the Challenge as a team of 2-4 members.

Top 3 finalists will be invited to attend the black-tie Ambassador Gala;  receive continued support to fast-track their growth in the following 12 months, including mentorship, feedback, training, and resources from the GCIC network; and be invited to showcase the progress of their growth in the next year at the 2024 Global Climate Innovation Summit.

Clean Mobile Power Initiative

The Clean Mobile Power Initiative aims to identify and deliver cost-competitive, zero-emissions mobile power at scale for the entertainment industry, including developing alternatives to diesel generators, which currently account for ~700,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year from the entertainment sector. We’re looking for the most innovative global startups that have clean power generating technologies (including, but not limited to, battery energy storage systems, hydrogen power units, and hybridized systems), or supporting business model innovations, to join the Clean Mobile Power Focused Cohort. StartOut Growth Lab (SGL) is a startup accelerator that offers top quality mentoring, education, and networking opportunities for companies that happen to be founded or co-founded by LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs. Go Build 2023 with Saint-Gobain is accelerating the commercialization of technologies to decarbonize the built environment, from conception to breaking ground, retrofitting, demolition, and recycling. Startups selected for the program will gain access to mentorship, networking opportunities, and educational workshops throughout the highly structured, six-month program.

Justice40 Accelerator

The Justice40 Accelerator will support community-based and community-led groups/organizations working at the frontlines of environmental crises and advancing community-driven climate solutions. Nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status, fiscally sponsored projects, and cooperatives based in the U.S., including sovereign lands located within the U.S. and its territories, are eligible to apply. The Accelerator is a 12-month long learning community of projects accountable to communities and committed to delivering climate-related solutions. The Accelerator is designed to be a cohort experience to meet projects where they are at in their journey to become eligible for public funding. The Accelerator will provide project development support and technical assistance to cohort members in order to competitively apply for grant funding.

This 4-week Cleantech Propelus I-Corps program will be a collaboration between the Cleantech Open Northeast and the Northeast I-Corps Hub. Together, we support research teams and aspiring startups with cleantech innovations to advance those technologies forward so we can solve our greatest environmental and energy challenges. Rising Solar Power Fellowships

GRID Alternatives and WRISE are partnering again for a Rising Solar fellowship program to give aspiring solar professionals from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to pursue a career in renewable energy. The program, part of GRID and WRISE’s workforce diversity initiatives, is aimed at anyone identifying as a woman or marginalized gender training for careers in installation and design as well as college and graduate students studying renewable energy and related fields. Rising Solar Fellows receive:

The WCS Entrepreneurship Circle

The WCS Entrepreneur Circle (E-Circle) is a three-month cohort program designed for entrepreneurs who identify as women to communicate, reflect, and connect with each other. More than a mentorship program, the E-Circle offers you opportunities to commune with up to 11 fellow entrepreneurs, build relationships with leaders in this space, and collect new resources. In monthly virtual meetings and in Slack, the group will learn from a keynote speaker, share advice, challenges, and offer support. The program is initiated and organized by WCS Entrepreneurship Committee.
