The Tribal Energy Innovation (TEI) Fellowship will be entering its third year and is offering a $25,000 award designated for federally-recognized tribal members who are entrepreneurs, or a member of a cooperative or social/business enterprise which supports renewable energy infrastructure and capacity building in tribal communities. The Fellowship is designed to develop and strengthen tribal energy sovereignty and resilience in Indian Country by supporting tribal members who are entrepreneurs or a member of a social/business enterprise that advances sustainable renewable energy solutions and capacity building in tribal communities.

During the year-long, stipend fellowship, fellows learn from GRID staff, from one another, and from industry mentors and professionals on best practices in renewable energy planning, business, workforce development and training, and other areas of technical support. GRID Alternatives and the Tribal Solar Accelerator Fund have partnerships across the U.S. to provide a network of professional, educational support and opportunities with industry leaders, and exposure to advanced technologies from around the world. The fellowship culminates with a business presentation to GRID staff, industry professionals and other renewable energy changemakers looking to invest in innovative approaches to the unique energy needs across Indian Country.

EnrichHER connects companies led by women and founders of color to the capital, coaching, and community they need to take their businesses to new heights. Access direct loans and lines of credits from $10k-$250k and $5k small business grants. Additionally, EnrichHER has a five-week Business Financing Accelerator to put you on the fast-track to funding and get you access to its network of funders.

Our mission is to provide Black/Brown woman-identifying founders with access to community, capital, and capacity building in order to meet business milestones that lead to economic advancement through entrepreneurship. We fund and scale tech-enabled, revenue-generating businesses (under $1M) founded by people who identify as Black/Brown and woman. We ignite civic engagement and hyperlocal infrastructure at the intersection of business support services, supplier diversity, social and financial capital.

The Majira Project Accelerator Program is now accepting applications for its 2022-23 7th Cohort. Accepted small businesses led by or serving Black, Latinx, and Indigenous communities receive a pro-bono, company-specific consulting engagement with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), a business coach, and connections to an extensive network of mentors, funders, and other resources to accelerate growth. The Clean Energy Cybersecurity Accelerator^TM (CECA) advances cyber innovation to defend modern, renewable energy technologies against high-priority cybersecurity risks to the energy sector.

CECA solicits participants based on high-priority security threats. Cohorts go through an accelerator period of 3 to 12 months, sharing ideas and threat intelligence before validating solutions in the lab.  To be eligible for the program, interested solution providers must:

• Be based in the United States
• Offer technology solutions with strong authentication for distributed energy resources, to protect the modern electrical grid and expedite solutions to market
• Be at a Technology Readiness Level 4 or above

BlueSwell is a collaboration between the New England Aquarium and SeaAhead to support the creation and growth of startups with scalable solutions that enhance ocean health, sustainable ocean industry, and global resilience. The funding for selected startups to $50k! The 20-week program also provides entrepreneurs with business know-how workshops, mentorship, networks, and connections to be prepared for first investments.

The term “energy innovation” supports both the development of alternatives to and enhancements of existing sources of energy, including improved energy efficiency, lower and less volatile costs, more favorable environmental impacts, and the ability to extend the life of an energy source. The EEIA provides a variety of services for emerging businesses focused on the advancement of energy innovation and technology.

Blue Startups is focused on helping scalable-technology companies compete globally. Blue Startups aims to stimulate economic growth in Hawaii and create new business opportunities by providing promising entrepreneurs with mentorship, access to business expertise, product testing, peer review, pitch development, introductions to investors, and seed funding.

Greentown Lab just opened a new funding opportunity, looking for startups at TRL 3 and above that decarbonize supply chains, namely through supply chain management, packaging products and materials, alternative foods and ingredients, and green fleets and battery management. Winners will access Greentown Lab’s network, programs, and labs, and will receive $25,000 in non-dilutive grant funding. Apply by August 8.

VillageCapital is seeking startups in the US doing at least one of these: Reduce greenhouse gas emissions, expand access to clean energy, enhance the resilience and sustainability of food and water systems, bolster circular economy through reduction of waste and regeneration of materials, and/or provide analytical insights used to accelerate sustainability and mitigate climate change.

The top two startups selected by peers will receive a grant of USD $50,000.
