LabStart is actively recruiting a diverse cohort of individuals – passionate about climate solutions, for a paid, year-long fellowship. During the program, fellows will work to build a startup around technologies licensed from national labs and universities. LabStart provides funding, structured programming and mentorship with a peer cohort, access to industry networks and funding pipelines, and guidance navigating the patent licensing process. You commit to working full-time on launching your company and we commit to making that possible! Selected entrepreneurs will convene with an in-person kickoff March 12-14, 2024. We anticipate 3-5 in-person events throughout the year and 6-8 virtual hours per week of LabStart curriculum, mentorship, team building, and coaching.

The 2024 challenge: To be part of a competitively selected cohort of start-up and/or seed stage ventures who offer innovative products or services aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions in an effort to help Vermont meet its climate goals. Start-ups addressing the decarbonization of buildings, transportation, heating and industrial processes through electrification, biofuels, thermal energy networks or other renewables with a particular focus on load management controls integrated with storage, heat pumps, electric vehicle charging equipment and building systems are encouraged to apply. Ventures that address energy burden for under-represented and low to moderate income populations are of particular interest.

For Year 2 of the ACCEL program, we’re seeking applications from innovative startups at TRL 1-4 with founding and executive teams that are primarily made up of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) leaders who are developing climate solutions for the electricity, transportation, buildings, manufacturing, agriculture, and resiliency + adaptation sectors.

This year-long program combines acceleration with a curated curriculum, incubation through a Greentown Labs membership, and extensive mentorship from Greentown and Browning the Green Space (BGS)’s networks of industry experts. Greentown and BGS know the climatetech industry must change the status quo to equitably position you to lead startups that will address climate change, support the development of diverse workforces, and fiercely advocate for the deployment of clean technologies in historically underserved communities.

The Inspiring Generations of New Innovators to Impact Technologies in Energy (IGNIITE) program is designed to support a new cohort of early-career researchers to develop the most disruptive and unconventional ideas into transformative new technologies across the full spectrum of energy applications. Areas of interest include grid, transportation, buildings and construction, electricity generation and storage, carbon capture, storage, and sequestration, industrial efficiency and decarbonization, amongst others. Additionally, awardees will engage with ARPA-E and fellow awardees through dedicated IGNIITE events, meetings, and mentorship activities.

A signature program of NYCEDC’s Venture Access NYC initiative, the Founder Fellowship is designed to improve access to capital and networks for underrepresented founders across all tech-enabled sectors. Each year, the Founder Fellowship supports a diverse community of New York City tech startup founder teams with much-needed access to resources and networks to help them grow their companies. Selected teams are placed in Founder Fellow cohorts led by NYCEDC’s program operators. All Fellow teams receive unique value and offerings including:

• Individualized work plans to identify key needs and interests
• Cohort convenings to discuss challenges and receive business administration support
• Connections to capital providers and potential collaborators
• Access to mentors and advisor network

The APEX Accelerators program, formerly known as Procurement Technical Assistance Program (PTAP), under management of the Department of Defense (DoD) Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP), plays a critical role in the Department’s efforts to identify and helps a wide range of businesses enter and participate in the defense supply-chain. The program provides the education and training to ensure that all businesses become capable of participating in federal, state, and local government contracts.

Energy Terminal’s Emerging Leaders Program is designed to help college students fast-track their career growth in energy. The 8-week program will include weekly sessions with experts from the world’s top companies across renewables, engineering, finance, venture capital, consulting, policy, and more.

The Accelerator program focuses on three main themes: financial services, cross-border expansion, and intelligent manufacturing, and is open for applications globally! The Selection Day is scheduled for December 2023, followed by a six-month acceleration program from January to June 2024. Selected startups will have the opportunity to connect with leading financial institutions, investment firms, and enterprises in China.

Launched in 2013, TVN is a nationally recognized, award-winning entrepreneurial ecosystem that supports new, innovative and growing businesses by providing capital funds, mentorship programs, acceleration bootcamps, networking sessions, and project demonstrations.

Incubatenergy Labs is built for startups to engage EPRI and electric power energy providers in paid demonstration projects. An energy providers summit and collaborative demonstrations program in one, the program links startup companies leading the advancement of electrification, decarbonization and grid modernization with energy providers from around the world that have the capacity and desire to demonstrate and scale those innovations. We structured the program to give you maximum exposure to energy providers and ensure that the results of a successful demonstration with one energy provider turns into opportunities with many.

The Syracuse Surge Accelerator is a one-year in-person accelerator to provide direct resources and support for Black-Indigenous-Persons of Color (BIPOC) entrepreneurs who want to launch and accelerate tech-related and tech-adjacent startups in Syracuse, New York. ​

The program is looking for advance startup concepts and early-stage tech businesses or tech-adjacent services that are founded and operated by a BIPOC founder. They welcome both technical and non-technical founders and their teams who are ready to execute their tech product/service ideas or take their early-stage startups to the next level.
