Washington, D.C. – The Presidents of the BCSE and CEBN sent letters today to members of the House and Senate Leadership and to President Biden urging them to reach agreement by Memorial Day and enact into law prior to the August recess, a budget reconciliation package with robust and transformative climate change policies and clean energy, sustainable transportation and energy efficiency tax measures.

Washington, DC – In response to ongoing Congressional negotiations about the Build Back Better Act, the Business Council for Sustainable Energy and Clean Energy Business Network released the following comments.

BCSE President Lisa Jacobson and CEBN President Lynn Abramson released the joint-statement below following the House passing a procedural vote to consider the Build Back Better Act and passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). The IIJA includes $80 billion in investments in power and grid infrastructure, energy efficiency, and advanced transportation.

The Small Business Administration has selected the CEBN as a winner for the 2021 Growth Accelerator Fund Competition (GAFC). The GAFC winners were selected based on their proposals for targeting innovation-focused entrepreneurs from underrepresented and under-resourced communities. As a GAFC winner, CEBN joins 84 other organizations across the nation who provide support to innovation- and STEM-focused entrepreneurs in fields such as clean energy, supply chain resilience, and infrastructure. CEBN will receive a $50,000 prize to complete its plans for targeted assistance to entrepreneurs from underrepresented communities working in clean energy innovation.

CEBN President Lynn Abramson praised Senate passage of the bipartisan infrastructure deal as a first step to addressing energy infrastructure needs. Abramson urged Congress to build on today’s success and enact policies and investments in additional legislation under consideration that expand the use of energy efficiency and clean energy solutions in our homes and businesses across the country.

The CEBN delivered a letter this week to Senate leadership and the “Gang of 22” urging support for a bipartisan infrastructure package that includes the Energy Infrastructure Act. Signed by 368 clean energy business leaders and individuals, the letter calls on Congress to advance this legislation and other energy policies. CEBN’s parent organization, BCSE, also sent a coalition letter on this important legislation.

The Clean Energy Business Network offered comments in reaction to the Biden Administration’s review of supply chain vulnerabilities across the U.S. economy.
