Recently 86 CEBN members participated in our fiscal year 2018 appropriations sign-on letter to protect funding for clean energy programs. Congressional leaders have rejected the deep funding cuts proposed in the Administration’s FY 2018 budget request.

Since last fall, the federal government has been running on a series of “continuing resolutions,” or short-term funding measures that continue the prior year’s spending levels. Congress has been passing these incremental measures since Oct. 1, 2017 (when fiscal year 2018 began)—except for a brief government shutdown over one weekend in January.

On January 8, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) rejected a proposal by the Secretary of Energy to require new rate structures favorably pricing electricity generation resources with 90-day onsite fuel storage.
